We chatted with the Operations Manager at one of Melbourne’s favourite tourist attractions to see how Spirit Internet helps their business.

We’ve been helping the Eureka Skydeck team not only communicate with staff and customers, but also power several of their systems such as soundscapes, sound effects, and lighting for the past two years.
We were lucky enough to chat with Operations Manager, Robert Rabba, about how the Internet helps business at Eureka Skydeck. We also got to take in some pretty sweet views, too.
Can you explain to people who don’t know, what Eureka Skydeck is?
Rob: Eureka Skydeck 88 is the highest public vantage point in the Southern Hemisphere.
In less than 40 seconds you will arrive at Level 88 in the fastest lifts in the Southern Hemisphere and be amazed by the awesome views of Melbourne from the floor to ceiling windows. Skydeck 88 is they only observation deck in the world that can thrill you with ‘The Edge’. A glass cube which projects three metres out of the building, 300-metres up – with you in it!
What role does the Internet play in a normal day at Eureka Skydeck and how does it connect you with customers and staff?
Rob: Fast and reliable Internet plays a huge role in the growth of our online business. It’s an enormous part in our day to day operations of the Skydeck. Several of our systems such as soundscapes, sound effects and lighting all work off a network which is run through the Internet.
We also rely on the Internet for our online booking systems, emails, communication to staff about their rosters, pushing content via our social media outlets and much more.
Can you imagine your business without the Internet? What kind of impact would this have on how you run Eureka Skydeck?
Rob: If we didn’t have any Internet, we wouldn’t be able to give customers the experience they currently get. We wouldn’t be able to drive our business via digital marketing, we couldn’t sell tickets online and we couldn’t market to our customers.
So, what does Rob really think about our business Internet? Well, we asked him and we’re pretty chuffed with his answer…
Rob: Honestly, the service has been fantastic. In the two years, I’ve only had one issue which was out of Spirits control, but the turnaround time and speed – I’ve never seen before from a provider. The Internet has been working very well, beyond my expectations.
