Spirit And Intalock – A Deepening Partnership With Significant Advantage

Spirit has come a long way since we opened our doors in 2005. We have long aspired to be a full Telco/IT provider. In our journey of smart acquisition and internal growth, the point has now been reached where we can offer Australian businesses a full suite of technology solutions. Instead of merely delivering parts of the IT puzzle, you can have it all when you do IT with Spirit.

Another huge piece of the Spirit picture fell into place in December 2020 when we formalised a merger with Intalock. We recognise Intalock as one of the nation's leading cyber security providers, and they will play an increasingly important role in the Spirit evolution.

Intalock specialises in providing Managed Security Services, encompassing incident response, endpoint detection and much more, all shaped around their world-class 24/7 Security Operations Centre (SOC). Today's ordinary IT departments struggle to keep up with cyber criminals, and these lawbreakers don't care what time zone you are in, so constant, round-the-clock monitoring and protection are now essential.

Founded in 2010 by current CEO Julian Haber, Intalock has grown to boast a list of A-list government and enterprise clients across a range of industry sectors. Looking back on the Spirit merger, Haber said, "As a leading Managed Security Services Provider, we were extremely proud and excited to join the Spirit Group. The timing was just right. The future strategy for Spirit is unique and impressive, and as significant shareholders we are incentivised to help rapidly grow market presence. We have a range of large corporate opportunities in the pipeline, and the future looks very bright indeed."

Cyber security is the leading technology concern for all organisations that handle and store sensitive data - customer credit card details, health or education records, sensitive financial information, classified government documents, and so on. It is no longer seen as a 'luxury' add-on by Australian organisations, but a necessity. Spirit Managing Director, Sol Lukatsky described the deal by saying, "The Intalock acquisition brings a highly sophisticated cyber security offering. A number of esteemed cyber security leaders from Intalock will join Spirit, along with a blue-chip customer base under the Spirit umbrella."

You may not know this, but cyber security is a field that demands a specific mindset, combining passion, meticulousness, and the pursuit of perfection. For the team at Intalock, this includes monitoring the Dark Web for emerging trends and evolving hacker methods of attack. According to Haber, "This research is a critical aspect of thwarting bad online actors and provides Intalock with a distinct competitive and tactical advantage in the cyber security realm."

As the Spirit Group continues to grow both organically and via targeted acquisition, it is emerging as a key player in the Australian IT arena. We pride ourselves in providing the tools to equip modern workplaces and ensure they are secure and collaborative environments, ready to meet the challenges that lie ahead. Cyber security is a bedrock requirement for organisations that embrace hybrid working arrangements—working closely with the experts at Intalock positions Spirit perfectly ahead of the curve on the emergence of dynamic employment agreements.

Spirit and Intalock will continue to deliver benefits and opportunities across the group. As a provider of full technology services to Australian businesses, including the latest in cyber security, you can feel safe trusting your IT needs to us.
